Report: LSU fans like to drink The Wall Street Journal says LSU football fans are already the national champions ... of drinking.
“Year in and year out, regardless of how well their team is playing, LSU supporters make other college tailgating crews look like Baptist choirs,” according to a story in Thursday’s online Journal.
When LSU played a road game at West Virginia in September, Mountaineer Field sold more than $120,000 worth of beer alone , the story says.
Parts of the stadium ran out of Bud Light around halftime, the story says.
“Not only was that figure 33 percent higher than the figure for the next-highest game, it accounted for 23 percent of the season’s total beer sales over seven games,” the story says.
