It's The Economy Stupid: Initial Jobless Claims

Okay, the Initial Jobless Claims were 400K, with is less than economists prediction of 405K, and less than last months revised number of 401K, so that number is headed in a good direction.  Perhaps layoffs are tapering off.  Which is a good thing for people still employed, but not so much for those who just got a pink slip and had to file that initial jobless claim.

Continuing Jobless Claims were 3730K, a little higher than economists prediction of 3700K, and higher than last months revised number of 3720K, so that number ain’t so great.

Ugh!  We get a good number, and then it is accompanied or followed by a bad number.  Sounds kind of like my grades in college.
