The RBC Consumer Outlook Index dropped to 47 from October’s 50.7.  Something about the economy, government shutdown, Affordable Care Act, et al weighing heavy on consumers.  Initial Jobless claims came in just about as expected at 340,000, and Continuing Claims came in a little higher than expected at 2,881,000.

Spooky!
